Hey ya’ll! Another busy week begins for all of us and for me that is focused around chiropractic clinic. I am finally applying everything I learned from the past 2 years and it feels amazing! However, the key to success in clinic now and practice later definitely has its’ roots in the above statement. School has not and could not TEACH me to care for my patients and their well-being. This passion and compassion came BEFORE I came to Palmer and for that I am grateful.
“People don’t care how much you KNOW, until they know how much you CARE.” This quote I first heard from a successful, confident, and inspiring Motion Palpation Institute Doctor at a seminar. He truly gives 100% of his effort, energy and emotion for the students he teaches and the patients he treats. I use this mentality in clinic whenever there is a patient in the room (as I would wish ALL of my doctors to do for me!). I want them to know that I care about their pain, their struggles, their concerns about their health and that any information I collect or treatment I give is in their best interest. I constantly am rethinking approaches to their care in my free time and wondering how they are doing through the treatment when they are not in the office.
This passion is hard to learn so luckily I brought it with me to school! It has only grown as I hear people’s life experiences and realize that I have the tools to help them feel and function better. I hope to emanate this passion and compassion each and every time I am in the room with a patient (no matter how exhausted I am!). I hope ya’ll feel that energy from me both in the clinic and in daily life, and I hope to see ya’ll soon. 😊
